Guess what, gig time again! Edinburgh's Juniper Promotions has some
more great gigs coming up - I hope some of you want to come along! And
do pass this along to anyone else who also might be interested - be
daring!
go out! watch live music!
Friday 13 October is Juniper's first autumn show with Kieran Docherty, who
will be at Cabaret Voltaire for an early show with **7pm** doors. Tickets
will be £6 adv/£7 door. Kieran is a leading light in Glasgow's acoustic
scene -
influenced by a range of singer-songwriters as diverse as Roddy Frame,
Paddy McAloon, Neil Finn and Nick Drake as well as contem****aries such
as Damien Rice and Ryan Adams, Kieran's unique brand of acoustica draws
on country, pop and folk traditions to great effect. Find out more here:

Opening for Kieran will be Edinburgh's own rising stars, the Dead Beat

On Friday 20 October, the one the only Nick Harper is playing Cabaret
Voltaire
in a early show with doors at **7pm**. Tickets are £8 adv/£10 door. If
you
don't know about this already legendary singer/songwriter/guitarist, then
you
need to know what you're missing - Guitarist magazine recently dubbed him
"Dylan for the iPod generation". But don't just take their word for it -
you
have to see the man they call Harpic live to truly appreciate his unique
talent
and charm. Check out the following sites for news, music samples, and
more

And make sure to hear him in session with Janice Long in the early hours
of
Friday 13 October on Radio 2!
Pauline Black is the first lady of ska - the charismatic frontwoman of the
Selector. Jake Burns is the main songwriter and vocalist of Stiff Little
Fingers - he's their heart and soul. Along with Nick Welsh (Selector) and
Roddy Radiation (Specials), they make up the "acoustic supergroup" 3 Men
and Black, who will be at the Liquid Room on Monday 4 December for an
early
**7pm** show. Don't be late - the very special sup****t that night will be
none
other than the Bay City Rollers' Eric Faulkner! All these artists will be
giving you an acoustic tour of their musical pasts, and there's always a
few
surprises along the way. Tickets are £12 adv/£14 door. More information
about 3 Mean and Black can be found here:

Don't forget, you can order tickets via Juniper without booking fees, and
you can make credit card purchases from Ripping Records and Tickets
Scotland.
(Also, don't miss Glenn Tilbrook with Antonio Forcione at the Queens Hall
this
Thursday evening, 5 October - it's not a Juniper gig, but we definitely
approve)
I'll testify (indeed, I often have ;) to the talent and entertainment
value of
Juniper and its gigs/musicians. We would love to see you and your
friends
along at the gigs!
Cheers,
Paula
