Edinburgh's Juniper Promotions has more coming up that I think you'll
enjoy (please vouch for me, those of you who've gone! ;). I hope some of
you want to come along, and do pass this along to anyone else who also
might be interested - be daring! go out! watch live music!
First off, Scottish legend Martin Stephenson plays THIS SATURDAY (St.
Patrick's Day!). Martin is a supremely gifted singer, songwriter,
musician
and performer, whose career in music stretches back over twenty years.
He was initially fired up to play in a band when the punk rock phenomenon
went overground in the late 1970's. Then, as now, however, Martin's free
spirit incor****ated a love for an eclectic range of musical styles, from
rockabilly, show tunes, through to straight ahead rock and full-tilt punk.
He
has released albums on his own and with his gorgeous group the Daintees
since
the early 1980s. Now relocated in the Highlands of Scotland, Martin still
ploughs his own furrow, refining his already prodigious musical skills and
his
awesome reputation as a live act. Find out more on the web:

Sup****t will be from Edinburgh's own Amy Duncan, who's a star herself!

On Friday 18 May, the one the only Nick Harper returns to Juniper in
sup****t
of his first DVD, "Love is Music" and his soon-to-be-released new album.
If you don't know about this already legendary
singer/songwriter/guitarist,
then you need to know what you're missing - Guitarist magazine dubbed him
"Dylan for the iPod generation" and Mojo have him pegged as an artist to
watch. But don't just take their word for it - you have to see the
man they call Harpic live to truly appreciate his unique talent and charm.

And make sure to check him out in session with Janice Long in early May
on Radio 2:

Sup****t will be from Kieran Docherty, a rising star in the Glasgow music
scene:

Also in May, on Wednesday the 30th to be exact, Juniper welcomes the
return of Carol Laula. Scotland is famed the world over for its ex****ts
and one of its finest has to be this singer-songwriter. With "a style
which
bobs around somewhere between the sweet, clear delicacy of Joni
Mitchell and the tougher edges of Joan Armatrading", it's not surprising
that she has done so well for herself. She first captivated the media and
her audience in 1990, when her independent single "Standing Proud" was
chosen to represent Glasgow in its year of culture. And she is still
going
strong today, having released her most recent album "Kitchen Stories" in
2006. Although her albums capture her incredible tone and clarity, again
it's when you see her perform live that you truly appreciate her talent
and
gorgeous personality. Find out more at her website:
http://www.carollaula.co.uk
All shows are at Cabaret Voltaire - and please remember they start EARLY,
doors open at 7pm. Up-to-date details about all Juniper gigs (including
contact telephone numbers and how to get tickets) can be found at the
Juniper websites:

(Also, tickets for Squeeze reunion dates go on sale this Friday - don't
miss
them ;)
Hope to see you there? :)
Cheers,
Paula
